I’ve been working very hard on a new technology of hyperlinks, hence my lack of posts.
I can’t say I work better with the right music, but there certainly are albums that don’t divert me from my goal and, somehow, seem to help towards the desired “state of flow”.
Ted Reichman’s Emigre is one of those albums.
Emigre is labelled as “Jazz”. But musical genres are of one of the least helpful taxonomies.
When I read “Jazz” I think Ella and Ellington, trumpets and blue voices. I don’t think the strictly instrumental landscapes performed on this 2003 Ted Reichman’s work.
Yes, this is a call for a musical folksonomy.
This is a great album.
There are several samples available from Reichman’s own webite:
track: November 12, 1920 (1:30 sample)
track: Paris, c. 1930 (3:15 sample)
track: Washington Square (3:15 sample)
