Alone in the wilderness (2004) (TV)

I watched it on 2006–04–27, Thursday night.

My rating: 8/10

In 1968, one man named Richard Proenneke, aged 51, decided to put himself to “the test of living alone, for one year”, at the untouched “Twin Lakes”, Aleutian Peninsula, on Alaska.

He chopped the trees needed to build a house; he alone built that house with his bare hands, using nothing but basic instruments for working on wood, some of which he manufactured in loco, as required. He also fished, hunted and planted his own food.

For the exception of one artificial plastic layer he applied to the roof of the house, to prevent water leaks, everything he used, he got it directly from the surroundings!

For the exception of sugar, coffee and other non essential items, his meals were also directly obtained from the surroundings…

This documentary is about pure contact with the elements: the air, the water and even the fire (well, he built a fireplace in the cabin)…

Dick Proenneke ended up living there, in solitude, for over 30 years, until he was 82 years old!

Loose Change, 2nd Edition (2006)

I watched it on 2006–04–28, Friday night.

This movie is NOT available on IMDB.

My rating: 9/10

The movie exposes the “inside job” theory, according to which, the 2001–09–11 attacks, were perpetrated by Bush’s Government.

On a first glance, this seems absurd, but – in fact – some questions that the movie rises are extremely interesting and most people have asked them, themselves, such as…

“How could flight #93 crash and leave such a small crater and no bodies to autopsy?”;

“Since it is nearly impossible to make cellular phone calls at the altitude flight #93 was flying, due to no service coverage (probability of service coverage <1%) , how could so many passengers do such phone calls?”

“How can a plane crash against the Pentagon and leave so little debris? Not even the virtually indestructible titanium parts of the engines were found!”. And why was the video of the event, taped from one nearby gas station, confiscated, never to be released?

“How could the WTC steel melt in less than 30 minutes, if it was certified to burn at much higher temperatures, for much longer?”

These and many other questions have been daunting people for too long, to remain unanswered. This movie, brings new and old interrogations back, plus it gives each a considerable background, by interviewing people who do know about the subjects, showing official documents; showing the recordings of live transmissions on that day, including firemen communications who support the idea that the main WTC towers were being “like imploded”, such were the inside explosions being heard…

And why would “someone inside”, allegedly, do this? To start “a new world order”?, to make loads of money, from the gold that was kept under the buildings (167 billion USD)?

Convar (http://www.convar.de), one German company who is recovering data from the hard drives of the WTC debris, allegedly found evidence that millions of $ were  transferred, to or from key interests, in the days before the attack. Some other abnormal financial moves had already been recognised by the markets, such as the NYSE and the NASDAQ, in the form of higher than usual trades of certain financial products, such as put options…

This movie impressed me. It is not late to start really thinking about what happened. Moreover, the movie is free. It is legal do distribute it, give it, etc, so it should be easy to find it on the Internet.
