Since I mostly tune the Astra 2 array, from western Europe, my starting point is:

In relative terms, the satellite spectrum is mostly crowded of crap transmissions, like sales, x-rated phone services and religious brain washing. In absolute terms, there still are hundreds of high quality channels at the reach of my antenna. On the Astra 2 array, the gold goes for the (BBC + ITV)’s Freesat service.
